When this trip works
The south coast is dry, warm and swimmable from December to April and rough from May to September, when this trip simply does not exist and we would send you to the east coast instead. October and November are the turn: the sea is settling rather than settled, the rates are the lowest of the year, and late November is usually the point it comes good.
Coming outside that window? Beach Beach Beach! (east) is the same idea built for the other monsoon.
October — mixed, worth a conversation
It is October now, and this route reads mixed this month.

- Travellers with under a week who want the sea rather than a tour

- Anyone who wants to see the Cultural Triangle or the hill country; five days does not stretch that far and we will not pretend it does

Make it yours
This is a starting shape, not a fixed departure. The changes people ask for most:
- Move to Tangalle or Hiriketiya for somewhere quieter with fewer restaurants
- Add three nights in the hills at the front for a proper week
